UNIT TITLE:
What's the REAL cost of Immigrants?
The Trump administration released a video during the 2018 mid-terms that portrayed immigrants from South America as an invading horde of uneducated criminals. Much of his 2016 campaign and his administration's support comes from people who feel immigration is a threat to US citizens.
Are they right?
To find out, you'll learn about the economics of immigration - who wins, who loses, and what effect immigrants have on the US. You'll look at economic information, plus some political information on where the anti-immigration surge came from ... and maybe where it's leading. Like in many of our units, this is challenging material, but crucial to understand, which makes the facts more important than ever.
